New links/files on Web-Grognards, 16/11/97
Hi,
I have reorganised the links on the Web-Grognards page pointing to relevant
USENET newsgroups:-
http://www.grognard.com/usenet.html
They now point to
Dejanews, rather than
Zippo Dot Com, as the latter appears to
have dropped its freely accessible newsfeed.
The latest 4CDs Challenge, sponsored by the
4CDs Strategy and Wargame Shop,
continues. The stumbling block is the first question. Clue: it is not as hard as it looks!
A free copy of the new
Sid Meier's Gettysburg
computer game awaits
the first person who correctly answers both the following questions:-
- Q1: The following quote comes from the manual of a classic computer wargame:-
'The proficiency ratings of leaders subtract from the base command
control number of units'.
What is the name of the game, what company produced it and who designed it?
- Q2: What are the title and publisher of the current
Grognard Challenge game? This you
have to recognise from scans of two map sections and two sets of
units on the Web-Grognards homepage.
Rules of the 4CDs Challenge
- Only one entry is allowed per entrant. Subsequent entries submitted
by any entrant will be ineligible.
- All entries must be sent to
grognard@grognard.com
- All entries received will be given a entry number. This must
be quoted to obtain any prize.
- The closing date of the current competition is Saturday 22nd November,
18:00 GMT. All entries must be dated prior to this.
- The winner (if any) will be notified by email after the closing date.
- Decisions of the competition organisers are final.
- Staff of 4CDs and Web-Grognards are ineligible to enter.
You can of course just submit answers for the Grognards Challenge, which
is running as ever.
The Previous Grognards Challenge: Mark Perry
was the
first to guess
'Caporetto' from SPI's 'Great War in the East' quad.
A new Challenge awaits!
