He guessed that the manual quote came from the old SSI computer game, 'Gettysburg: the Turning Point', designed by Chuck Kroegel and recognised the Grognard Challenge game (see below for answer). A free copy of the new Sid Meier's Gettysburg game will be on its way to him.
