Adobe Acrobat and Web documents

The current release of Acrobat for Windows, WinNT, Mac, and Unix is 2.1. To configure this into Netscape Navigator you must install the acroread program on your system and add the acroread program to the Netscape helper list. Use a mime type of 'application', a file extension of ".pdf" and provide the path to the acroread.exe.

Version 3.0 of Acrobat is currently in beta. This version permits page by page display of pdf documents while they are downloading. Support for his version will be embedded in the next release but one of Netscape Server and Browser (v4.x) and will permit the use of pdf graphics in html documents.

If configuring the helper is too confusing or if your browser doesn't support helper applications then simply save the downloaded pdf file into a working directory with the extension .pdf. Then start acroread by itself and load the document file. Everything should work fine from there.
