The 1995 edition changed the term "CRP" (Combat Resource Points or "Krips") to "RP" (Resource Points). "Krips" was much more satisfying. The 1995 edition added a Neutral Activation Table on which you roll on with certain modifiers depending on specified game events. Makes the activation of neutrals less "automatic" than the 1975 version. The 1975 edition had CRP pool limit of "6" for Turkey - even with this limit I never saw the Allied powers capture Constantinople. It appears that this limit was left out of the 1994 version. Why? It makes it absolutely impossible for the Allies to capture Contantinople. The 1994 version omitted the beginning CRP values from the map CRP track. You need the errata(or a copy of the 1975 game) or else you can't play the game! The 1994 edition added the Caucasus front and a couple of additional Russian and Turkish units to fight on it. When I played it this front didn't really have any effect on the rest of the war. The 1994 map is full color and much nicer looking. The 1994 army counters feature little army "hats" which look kind of silly. I'd play with the 1975 army counters, which had little soldier icons and look much more business-like. The 1975 version was a very balanced and fun game. The minor tinkering done in the 1994 version shouldn't make it any worse (except for the Turkish CRP pool limit change). If you own and love the 1975 version I wouldn't recommend buying the new version unless you are a real WWI junkie. --------------------- Steve Keifer skeifer@enteract.com Wheaton, IL Eudora Light 3.0.5 Last 3 Board Games Played: Great War at Sea Vol. II, Caesar in Gaul (GMT), Year of the Rat (SPI 1972)
