Richard H. Berg - 04:55am Oct 2, 1998 PST (#72 of 77) [ Mark ] "Question to Mr. Berg: Can cavalry "counter-charge" a Man-at-Arms unit that moves into that cavalry unit's ZOC? " Yes . . . "Can unit's from from different nobles pass through units belonging to a second, different noble? (ie can Surreys Men-at-Arms pass through Norfolk's longbow unit?)" No. (A bit "gamey", but, otherwise, you have to have reams of stacking rules; this just makes it a bit simpler . . . and does, at that level, reflect the realities of maneuvering around a battlefield in traffic. Moving Richard to hit the Tudor left appears to be The Gambit of Choice, by the way . . .and I actually got Northumberland to activate . . . once. Was more a case of him moving up for a better seat and view of the proceedings. The Stanleys are a bit of an afterthought, aren't they . . . In a few days I will be announcing our version of the P500 mechanic: The BSO P5 List. I'll be listing all the probable, and possible, projects upcoming and seeing how all 6 of the folks herein react thereunto. More details later . . . RHB ------------------------- Richard H. Berg - 04:58am Oct 2, 1998 PST (#73 of 77) [ Mark ] If you want to throw in a rudimentary command system, give all leaders a range of '4' (or '5', whichever works best) . . .when acivated, only the In Range units are fully activated. The out of command units have their MA reduced and may not shock (they can fire) unless they start adjacent. I'm not sure this is really necessary, but it doesn't (at least I think it doesn't) affect the game greatly . . . the same mechnic IS part of DEVIL'S HORSEMEN, but that battle is far more free-wheeling.
