One last question (or two) of Doc Decision on this fine game

In the initial German attack are the positions limited to 4 cards + an extra
artillery unit or can 2 divisions be used as in the remainder of the game?

Can the initial units be changed by reinforcements from the German hand on the
first turn before the attacks go in?

Thanks

Either is fine. You could certainly move a division of mech units laterally
and then attack west to create a two division attack force. This is an
excellent way to hit the C and/or D row.

I'm not sure of the question here. To restate the starting situation, the
German player gets to choose five units per column, then the German deck is
shuffled, and then the German is dealt 13 cards as a starting hand. He then
gets 3 more cards as the first turn reinforcements, so in all he chooses 15
combat cards, and receives 16 more total cards before he moves and attacks.
Out of those 16, he'll get more combat cards that could be used in the
opening attack as the German player sees fit.
