Richard H. Berg - 05:28am Jun 5, 2002 PST (#18916 of 18917) I can't help it. I was born sneering." Pooh-bah, in "The Mikado", by way of W.S. Gilbert A TIME FOR AC-RAP "Across the Rappahannock ... There are many interesting concepts that I like with this system, along with one rule (leaders can't become casualties) that I don't care for." The leader counters do not represent individuals, but command staff at that level. As such, "killing" them would be rather, well, silly . . . and require a host of rules that would add weight without depth. Cf. rules for Hooker . . . Things I Have Spotted So Far: Rulebook: 2.2 Counter examples. It shows a Disordered Artillery unit with the words "Reduced Cohesion". While most units do have reduced Cohesion when disordered, artillery does not . . . so the words are somewhat misleading. 11.6. Recovery. In the big Chancellorsville game, it is possible that some weird anomolies may occur, because some units start the game rather distant from their "leader", and, when recovering, they will be returned to play rather distant from where they left it. This will be rare, but, as it will probably bother some people, I will come up with some scenario specific rule . . . until then, deep breathing and thoughts of sandy beaches and crashing waves help. BattleBook Frederickbsurg Initial Setups: (a) Ransom's Artillery is the Branch Artillery counter . . . . (b) Atkinson's Brigade (Early) deploys in 5809, not 5819. Page 11, Effects of Strat Move. For stacking purpose, all the counters of the same artiller uniut ('a' and 'b') are considered 1 counter. Full Battle; Initial Deployment (p21): V Corps (Union); Sykes' division units deploy in 3909, 4009-10 (not 4909-10). And, for Humphrey's Division, change 2521 to 2520 (you don't need the extra hex, which is there because, originally, pontoons were going to be double-sized counters). Union Reinforcements (p22). That Reserve Artillery 'd' unit enters thru F5200 (there is no "F" Exit Hex) Counters: Ignore the 'b' on Smith's Brigade (Early). (There are probably a coupole of others like this.) Special Rules/Union Initial Command Decision (p23): If the Union Player has given orders to Reynold's I Corps to Move (and not stayt with Sedgwick), they may start doing so in any turn, after Turn 1, that the Union Player gets the Initiative. And note that, they cannot use the Strat Move AM at that time as several of their units are not on Roads/Pikes, so they must use the I Corps AM, complete with the adjusted activation dierolls. (This will probably get them moving somewhat quicker than they did historically.) And Sedgwick cannot roll for activation on the first Turn (0715). Typo: p.23, under Command Indecision Dierolls for Sedgwick, 3rd line: the word "not" should not be there . . .Sedgwick IS in total command of his units.. RHB SOME MORE BRIEF ERRATA FOR AC-RAP: These pertain to Fredericksburg set-up. 1. In III division set-up, the artillery that goes in 2614 is Smith 'a' (not 'b') 2. The Union 1/Cav is Gregg; the Union 2/Cav is Farnsworth 3. Union Arty Reserve: Graham's battery sets up in 2813 (not 2803 . . . which is not even on the map!) RHB Steve Carey - 10:36am Jun 5, 2002 PST (#18923 of 18980) Knights Templars and Hospitallers Thanks for the Across the Rappahannock clarifications, Richard. Here are a few more nits: Player Aid Card On the Defensive Fire Resolution chart, the '? Terrain' drm reminder was omitted (it is part of 10.34). On the Charge Resolution chart, the last drm is '+2 if Defender is using Extended Movement'; this should refer to Strategic Movement (see Battle Book, page 11). Also on the Charge Resoution chart, the '+1 Cavalry charging infantry modifier' is referred to '(10.13)'; it should be (10.26). In the Standard rules, eliminate the last sentence from 11.33; it's out of place and redundant to the last sentence in 11.32. Richard H. Berg - 10:44am Jun 5, 2002 PST (#18926 of 18980) I can't help it. I was born sneering." Pooh-bah, in "The Mikado", by way of W.S. Gilbert ""I don't see activation markers for four of the Reb divisions in Fredericksburg: Pickett, Ransom, Hood and D.H.Hill. Are they missing, or can these divisions only be activated with a Reb corps AM?" Hmmm . . . I think the reason for that - and it is probably something of an oversight, although not tragic, as you shall see - is that in playtesting the South was always played using the 2 Corps AM, and not individual divisional AM, as the CSA rarely has anything other to do other than defend (which is why this makes a better solitaire than face-to-face game). Something to put into the next C3i I guess. RHB
