Norbert Moehring - Feb 4, 2012 5:34 am (7444.) [Moehring, Norbert] Questions for L'Aventure Mexicaine a) I assume the units are handled like money: at any time both player may exchange them as long as the type, nationality, quality and the sum remains the same, correct? E.g. a unit of regular French 5 SPs of quality A may be changed into 5 units of 1 regular French SP of quality A. b) Is the connection between California and Guyamas a road or a “normal” connection? c) The system of Imperial supply is unclear to me. I assume the following sequence should be correct: a) Add those Imperial SPs which are in port-supply or have LoC. b) Pay 1 RP per 5 SPs (rounding up) of these SPs c) those SPs which have no Loc/port-supply SPs and are quality A or B lose a quality level and then all unsupplied forces must check for atrocities. Is this correct? d) If the Initative Check for issuing a Regular Order fails and the force not move must the player still expends RPs? e) The Imperial Player determines the order of combats. Does he declare all combats before the first has begun or combat after combat? f) I assume that if in a zone several forces moved (i.e. one during Regular Order, one during Initiative Order and one during Naval Movement Segment) they are fighting together as one force during the combat phase, correct? Or are there in ONE zone SEVERAL combat between the different forces? h) If the sum of both Combat Attitude markers is 4 or fewer there is no combat but if a player chooses “Se Replier” he must retreat. What happens if one player chooses “Tenir” (2) and the other “Se Replier” (1)? Is there no combat at all and so the player with “Se Replier” does not retreat? Or must the player with “Se Replier” still retreat even if there was no combat? i) If Juarez is not in zone with a fortress or town at the start of the Administrative Phase the Republican Player receives no RPs. Is this also true for RPs for American Aid or only for occupying zones? j) May the Republican player place two or more Guerrilla markers in one zone in the same turn? If it is allowed and he must roll for placement must he announce how many markers he will place before the first die roll or may he wait after the die roll? k) What does it means when in the scenario instructions says that i.e. a “Renfort” marker must be played on a specific turn? Must the Imperial player choose this marker from the event pool on that turn? If this is correct, does he still draw randomly the other two markers (one is given the Republican player)? l) How could Republican leader Zaragoza been eliminated permanently in scenario 7.2 since event 52 isn’t played? Same for leader Comonfort in scenario 7.3? m) May the Republican player in scenario 7.2. place more than 1 strength point per zone? n) It is really correct that if Event 63 is played the French player may NOT chose the “Hold” and “Withdrawal” Combat Attitude marker? I asked because I assume that the leaving French want NOT to fight anymore… Denis SAUVAGE - Feb 5, 2012 4:52 am (7446.) new [SAUVAGE, Denis] L'Aventure Mexicaine Norbert Thanks for having a look at my game…And sorry for my poor English, I’ll try my best. I do agree, the English translation is not good. I will be interested by a new one. Denis My answers : a) Yes b) Road c) Your sequence is correct d) No e) You must have combat if two forces, one imperial and one republican, are in the same zone. No need to declare. If there is a combat, all the forces of the same player are added together. There is just one combat per zone. f) The force with “Se replier” must leave the zone, the force with “Tenir” stays. No combat occurs. g) Both h) Yes he can and no need to say how many markers he will use for the same zone. He can use them one by one. i) He puts the marker in his hand and draws two more. After this he chooses the one he will play, even other one then “Renfort” and gives other one to the republican player. j) Good question…Haven’t seen this one…Historically these leaders were off…the haven’t been killed after the “black decree”. I prefer to leave the rules like this because it was a long work to combine the markers “événements” with History. k) Yes only for scenario 7.2 l) It’s a mistake in the translation, the French rules says “You must choose only “Se Replier” or “Tenir”. Norbert Moehring - Feb 5, 2012 5:43 am (7447.) new [Moehring, Norbert] Some other questions on L'Aventure Mexicaine Denis, thanks a lot of for your reply. o) If an Imperial force enters the zone with a “Guérilla” marker the marker is placed to the “Guérilla” box and the moving force suffers a loss and must stop movement. Is this also true if there in addition to the Guerilla marker a normal Republican force is the same zone? p) Event 56. If leader Forey has been eliminated the event has no effect. I assume this “no effect” applies only to the exchange of Forey/HQ and the Bezaine (Event 57) is still placed in the pool, correct? q) If the Imperial Player has no RP available may he than try to give an Initiative Order to a force that could be otherwise (i.e. if he had at least one RP) receive a Regular Order? r) What the is the purpose of the following markers: French/Mexican marker with a wagon and horses? The marker divided with French and Mexican flag? Norbert Moehring - Feb 5, 2012 5:56 am (7448.) new [Moehring, Norbert] Denis, just for sure... >Your sequence is correct This means unsupplied SPs are not counted for RP calculation, correct? >You must have combat if two forces, one imperial and one republican, are in the same zone. No need to declare Yes, but if there are combats in several zones the Imperial Player determines the sequence which zone begins the combat and so on - beforehand or combat after combat? >There is just one combat per zone Assume the following situation. In a port zone there is a Mexican force. An Imperial force enters the zone per land movement, later (in the same turn) a SP is embarked in this zone per naval movement. The Imperials lose the battle. Is the embarked SP elimated or - since there is only ONE Imperial foce including the embarked SP - it retreats with the force? Denis SAUVAGE - Feb 7, 2012 3:04 pm (7449.) new [SAUVAGE, Denis] L'Aventure Mexicaine New answers : o)Yes p)Yes q)Yes, to receive an Initiative Order you must not be able to receive an Regular Order. So, no RP, no Regular Order. r)These markers help you to count your RP. You put the marker on the “Aide de jeu”, so you don’t have to count the RPs at the beginning of each turn you just have to look at your “Aide de jeu”. Don’t forget to move the marker each time zone with RP value is lost, won or contested. Denis SAUVAGE - Feb 7, 2012 3:07 pm (7450.) new [SAUVAGE, Denis] L'Aventure Mexicaine And also : This means unsupplied SPs are not counted for RP calculation, correct? Answer : Yes Yes, but if there are combats in several zones the Imperial Player determines the sequence which zone begins the combat and so on - beforehand or combat after combat? Answer : Combat after Combat Assume the following situation. Answer :In 5.7.4, the rule says it’s eliminated, so it’s eliminated even in this case.
