Matthew Kirschenbaum - Jul 22, 2005 6:57 pm (#4709 Total: 4712) Recently played: Carolina Rebels, 1st Newbury and Mergentheim (MPBS), Friedrich, Deguello at Dawn Three more Carolina Rebels questions, then I think I'm good to go: On the Formation Effects on Combat Chart, a unit *defends* against an attacker in Column at +1. That aids the attacker in Column, even though according to 6.0 it is not a "combat-oriented" formation; by contrast, there are no DRM applicable to a unit Shocking in Close formation, even though (again according to 6.0) this is the formation that is optimized for Shock. Is the DRM printed on a counter the same as or IN ADDITION to the Formation DRM for Shock combat? For example, at Cowpens, the British 7th regiment has +2 printed on the Column version of its counter. If attacked in Shock, would it receive just +2 for the roll, or +4 (+2 for what's printed on the counter, and another +2 for the effect of being in Column). I would assume the former . . . 16.0. "The Flight dieroll is made each time after a player has undergone a Free (no dieroll) action." Can you please gloss that with an example or two of what would constitute a "free" action? Movement? Rally? And this is per *unit* or per Command Activation? Thanks. Richard H. That should be a -1 to Defender's DRM if you attack while in Column. (Damn!! Hate those silly +/- typos) "Is the DRM printed on a counter the same as or IN ADDITION to the Formation DRM for Shock combat?" Yes . . . you don't want to be shock attacked while in Column . . . My apologies . . . RHB
