John R. Teixeira - Jul 17, 2005 3:58 pm (#649 Total: 654) Since Curt Schilling is now a Red Sox, they will win the World Series (Wargamers=Winners). I've had this tagline for over a year now (heh-heh). October 27, 2004: Greatest day in Boston sports history. And I lived to see it. Demyansk Pocket I had the pleasure of playing Pac Rim's Demyansk Pocket the other night. What a great little game ! So much packed into six or so pages of rules. The game was balanced, but inevitably, several questions arose : 1) Do the Soviets have to sustain a continous line of units or ZOC's around the pocket throughout the game ? 2) Can the reinforcements move twice-once during the reinforcement phase and then once during the regular movement phase ? 3) Do new (relief) German units have to garrison the fortified hexes once they enter the pocket ? This is if there is not enough German units inside the pocket available to staff the fortified hexes. 4) Do reinforcement units coming in column have to pay extra movement costs ? 5) Do you round up or down on 1/2 pt strength ? 6) The board indicates the paratroops can enter or drop on the second turn, whereas the rules are ambigious. Which is it ? 7) Is there sudden death victory in the first scenario or do you have to play the end of the tenth turn ? Thanks for any help that you can provide. On an odd roll, the Germans can win an immediate victory by relieving the pocket per 9.2; on an even roll, the rellief corridor must exist at the end of turn 10. from the rules editor, Dra.
