Lightning: Midway question

Received my pre-order copies of Lightning Midway and D-Day today.

A couple questions about Midway:

1) When "Resupplying" (puttting force cards into play from your hand),
are the cards played face-up, or face-down?

2) In step number ten under "How to Assault," what happens if you exceed
the maximum hand size of nine cards after returning all force cards to
your hand? Must the extra card(s) be discarded? If so, when --
immediately, or during the discard phase at the beginning of your next
turn?

thanks!

Midway

Paul,

Thank you for the Midway questions!

Hope this helps...

1) The Resupply cards are placed face-up. 2) You are allowed to exceed
your hand size limit of 9. However, when you chose to Prepare, you only
draw until you have 9 cards. So, if you are at 9 or more, Preparing
won't do anything for you until you get below 9 cards in your hand.

So at the end of the assault phase you can have more than 9 cards in
your hand. But then in the first phase of each player's turn you would
have to discard cards until you get back down to no more than 9
remaining cards in your hand, correct?

Discarding

Hello Clay,

You are never forced to discard.

However, if you have 9 or more cards in your hand, the Prepare option
will not do anything for you, since it allows you to draw your hand up
to 9 cards.

So when is the "9 cards max. in your hand" limit applicable, only at the
start of the game or what?

Hand Size

Clay,

The Maximum Hand Size of 9 is applicable when drawing cards at the start
of the game, and when drawing cards for the Prepare option.
