Roy K. Bartoo - 04:41pm Dec 20, 2002 PST (#4718 of 4720) "A lot of people guess, and some say no and some say yes" - Billy Bragg & Wilco Query. I recently broke out the old Wargamer issue game "Little Round Top" (same designers as, but NOT the same game as, the OSG/AH "Little Round Top" game). There is an erratum note that the hex numbering system is screwed up (I kinda noticed ... ). But the suggested 'fix' really doesn't solve the problem, as at least some of the hex numbers are still one off. WebGrogs doesn;t have any errata for this game (that I could find, anyway). Does anybody know if there was any errata in a later issue of The Wargamer (probably issue 21 "Siege at Peking" or 22 "No Trumpets No Drums", neither of which I own any longer)? Yes, in issue #22: Yes, we sent an errata slip to most subscribers (and with all retail copies), and to the remainder with issue 21. This instructed players simply to reverse the references from left to right. Actually, this isn't quite accurate, though it does draw attention to that aspect of the grid which caused the trouble In order to sort the problem out adpot the following procedure. In every case the first two figures of the hex reference in the rules are correct. If these first 2 figures are even, subtract the last 2 from 20. Example: hex 1604 in the rules becomes 1616 on the map (04 from 20=16). If the first 2 figures are odd, subtract the last 2 from 19. Example: hex 1311 in the rules becomes 1308 (19-11=8) on the map. Apply this procedure to all references in the rules, whether to set up, entry, victory points or area of map in play. Apologies for the confusion. The other errata in the issue has to do with placing the strength point marker so that the current strength is immediately beneath the direct front hexside of the unit.
