From S&T 153 Cropredy Bridge (S&T 148) Q: What happens when a Routing unit reaches its designated map edge? (4.2 & 4.3) A: The unit simply stops and moves no further. It can be rallied normally. No units ever exit the map due to Rout. [This prevents artificial map boundaries and the unequal distances opposing units are likely to travel from unduly influencing unit elimination.] Q: Should the removal of HIT markers occur at the conclusion of each player turn, rather than at the end of each game turn? (2.2F and 10.2) A: No. Although it may seem unfair that the side with initiative is exposed to more chances to pick up HITS during the course of a tum, this is only true if the Initiative Player acts aggressively. It is intended that an energetic player run the risk of higher losses, as the Musket & Pike age was one that tended to favor the defensive phalanx. A well-timed and effective cavalry charge could, however, upset this tidy equation in real life, and the game reflects this as well. Q: The facing and ZOC diagrams do not conform; which one is right? (7.0 & 8.0) A: Units point toward a vertex as indicated in the ZOC diagram, not a hexside. Rotate the sample counter in the fiacing diagram 45 degrees to the right to obtain the correct illustration. The written text of the facing rule is correct. Q: Do units that fail a Morale Check for Defensive Charge (12.7) and Counter-Charge (12.8) have to make a charge but become Disorganized, like a regular Charge (12.1)? A: No, the rules misstate the design intent here. A mounted unit that fails its Morale Check for Defensive or Counter-Charge may not charge or otherwise move at all. The unit may, however, attempt Defensive/Counter-Charge cach time it becomes eligible to do so. Q: How do you determine which side has the initiative on the first turn of a scenario, before the regular die rolling procedure takes effect (18.0)? A: First turn initiative is always the same, and should be as follows: - Parliamentarian side has initiative in scenarios 18.1 and 18.3 - Royalist side has initiative in scenario 18.2 TABLES AND CHARTS (insert sheet) Morale Check Summary (5.2) - clarification -1 Unit has lost half or more SPs (i.e. has either 1/2 SPs or NO SPs remaining) TABLES AND CHARTS (on mapsheet) In case of conflicts between mapsheet and page insert, the page insert takes precedence. Fire Combat - Range Effects Chart (correction) add "x 1/2" on the Light Artillery line under the "7-9" column.
