Thank you for adding this to your excellent web site! I don't know where we Grogs would be without you. Bill Powers From: BrandySta@aol.com To: Bill Powers Subject: Re: FW: Wilderness War Questions. If their settlement is occupied as described in question 1 below, where do the indians go when they should 'go home'? Per 10.411 they are eliminated. This also happens in phase B.3 (and I see that this isn't explicitly clear in the rules -- sorry about that!) May new indians from that settlement be brought into the game (assuming they can start somewhere other than their home settlement)? No. Per 5.522 units may never enter the game in enemy occupied spaces. They must start in their settlement, so if it's occupied they can't enter. May flipped indians whose settlements are occupied be reinforced (un-flipped)? Yes. As long as they're not besieged per 5.523. They're drawing reinforcements from outlying settlements. Thanks again for a great game and your quick response. Glad you're enjoying it! --Rob Winslow From: BrandySta@aol.com To: Bill Powers Subject: Re: FW: Wilderness War Questions. I do have a couple of questions... 1) I understand that if an indian settlement is raided successfully (while allied), the indians from that settlement are eliminated. What happens if an enemy drilled unit or Leader lead force stops on the allied settlement? Nothing immediately. Per 10.411 the Indians from that settlement couldn't go home after a raid or in phase B.3 of the Late Season. Drilled troops will not massacre Indians at a settlement, but they will not allow enemy warriors to return to that settlement. 2) Can a stockade or fort be built on an settlement while it is allied with the enemy? Yes. Each space is a large chunk of territory. The garrison will be "watching" the enemy settlement. 3) Assume there is a militia unit in the proper department. The enemy wants to infiltrate past a stockade to raid an empty cultivated area beyond the stockade. There are no other friendly units in range to intercept. May the militia unit be placed in the stockade that is being infiltrated? If so, does that militia unit have to roll for interception or is it automatic? No -- militia can only be placed in stockades (in their Department) being raided, not infiltrated through. 4) The British draw their third '7' command rated leader. None are besieged. May the British pick the leader to return to the pool or is the selection random? The 3rd one is returned to the pool correct? British pick the 3rd leader so that only 2 are in the game. The picked leader is removed from the game forever. See 5.55. Thanks you for your time and attention. You have created what seems to be an excellent game, and I look forward to playing it more. Thank you for your kind comments. I am glad you're enjoying the game :-) Best, Rob Winslow (Developer)
