From: "Tom Wilde" Subject: NLB grand waterloo scenario Hi Alan here are the special rules and set-up for the Napoleon's Last Battles: Grand Waterloo scenario, from the Decision Games edition. i posted them on CSW and it was suggested they should go up on web-grognards too. i'd be honoured to have made a small contribution to the website! respect due for a great job. yours Tom Wilde >>> Grand Waterloo. Use La Belle Alliance and Wavre maps. Begins 1200 June 18, ends 2100. Set up as on maps. Add Bulow's IV Corps: Cav (W0112, 0211) 16 Brigade (W0210, 0310) 15 Br (W0310, 0309) 13 Br (W0409, 0509) 14 Br (W0609, 0709) Corps Art (W0409) Leader Set-Up (all others placed as desired; French III, IV, IC and IIC officers must be on Wavre map; Brunswick isn't deployed): Wellington B0915 Blucher W1406 Orange B1114 Napoleon B0922 Ney B1118 Grouchy W2121 Army demoralisation and disintegration: keep track of losses for each ARMY or ARMY GROUP. Dem/Dis occurs when an army passes the respective levels below: Prussian - 35/50 Anglo-Allied - 45/55 French - Napoleon's group Dem 60, Grouchy's group Dem 30 If two armies are dem/dis at the sdame time, the *non*phasing player's army is considered to have dem/dis first. Modifiers to Dem/Dis levels: French: +10 if either Pr or AA are demoralised, but -20 if enemy units enter Maison du Roi Pr: - 10 if Fr occupy all Wavre town hexes AA: +10 if Pr attack any unit of Nap's Army Group; -20 if Fr enter Waterloo; -10 if any Fr unit exits from W0901. Special Rules: 1. No Pr units or leaders may move on the first turn. 2. Command range: count roads and trails as one-half hex if tracing command along them (easier for messengers to ride between units) 3. Fr Imp Guard - usual rule in effect, *but* once enemy army Dem IG units are only adversely affected if they suffer an AE or AR result. Also, only Gren and Chas IG units are affected. 4. Units may not exit map except Fr from W0901. If forced to retreat off-map they are eliminated and count against Dem/Dis levels. 5. Bulow: may act as 'semi-commander' (!) for IV Corps at range of up to 3 hexes. 6. Grouchy: may count cavalry corps as one-half corps (ie can command twice as many cav corps as infantry). 7. Combined Fr Army Groups: if any of Grouchy's Fr army group units receive command control from Grouchy and attack a Brit unit while G is within range of Nap, the Fr Army is considered Combined. Dem level of Army is now 90. 8. Pr Dis: if Pr army is disintegrated, all Pr units must be removed immediately ("The army is in complete disarray and has withdrawn from the area to regroup"). Game continues with no further Pr involvement. 9. Attacks by Out of Command units: all units in enemy ZOCs may attack normally. (I play this rule anyway.) VICTORY CONDITIONS Fr: Demoralise BOTH AA and Pr armies OR Disintegrate AA. AA/Pr: Demoralise Nap army group (OR Combined Army if applicable) OR by prevent Fr from achieving their victory conditions. <<< _________________________________________________________________ Chat online in real time with MSN Messenger http://messenger.msn.co.uk
