Pat La Pella created this player aid to clarify special movement rules for the Japanese player for Amphibious Movement and Reinforcement beach landing hexes. Computer versions of the game show eligible hexes automatically when the Japanese player selects a unit for movement.

Wot I Think - Men Of War: Assault Squad

Jim Rossignol reviews this computer game based on the original real time strategy game, Men of War. Assault squad adds skirmish level play for one or multiple players. The review includes a pretty detailed account of the game’s features. Rossignol is especially impressed with the multi-player aspect calling the game “one of the greatest and grandest co-op games available”. The game series is available from 1C Entertainment and Steam.

A strategy game that requires strategy? Get out!

The Game Debate blog presents a positive review from RoRulon for Men of War: Assault Squad from 1C Entertainment. Describing the game as “fast and hectic...”, RoRulon emphasizes “the need to think on your toes and plan your troop movements on the fly” and concludes that the game is “also bloody hard” rating the game with an 8 out of 10.

War Never Changes...

The reviewers on the Hooked Gamers blog rate games based on how much fun they had playing the game. Andrew Hallam rates Men of War: Assault Squad an 8 out of 10 which is “Recommended” but not necessarily worth purchasing. Although the review is mostly positive, Hallam sees little replay value in the skirmishes and dislikes the voices used in the soundtrack. Hallam has more fun with the multi-player aspects of the game.

Contributor Andreas R reviews Men of War: Assault Squad on the OnPause blog. While the game is primarily for multi-player mode, Andreas finds the solitaire mode to be “incredibly exciting” for him. He rates the game 9 out of 10.
