Fight for Bühl

Spotlight Article Graphic

"The Austrian artillery is now somewhat exposed, worse - they go low on ammunition (maximum fire is one die - as per a random event ….. unlucky!)" Norm Smith, in Battlefields & Warriors, brings us a fast-paced French/Austrian Napoleonic clash, using his home brew rules. Can the Austrian gunners save themselves and the day when they "...keep up the pressure on the horsemen and eventually, the mauled French cavalry are deterred from making any further attacks..."!?!

"...given all the SNAFUs on both sides of this early battle of the American Revolution, it seems apt that this battle be named for the wrong place." See how Jeff Berry, in Obscure Battles, elegantly explains that this was "The battle that should never have happened".

Game: PanzerBlitz

(p33)

Publisher: Avalon Hill
Game Type: Board
Designer(s): Jim Dunnigan
Search for this and related games with Noble Knight

Description:

The game of PanzerBlitz enables you to re-create the drama and furious action of tactical-level armored warfare. Battle-simulations take place on a realistic mapboard which reproduces about twenty square miles of typical Russian terrain. The playing pieces are accurate symbolization of the platoon and company sized units which fought on the Eastern Front in World War II. More than a dozen different “scenarios” are given, each of which allows you to re-create a completely new game-situation in which to exercise your skill as an armor tactician. Prior military knowledge or experience, however, is not needed to play PanzerBlitz-just common sense, clear thinking and a competitive spirit. Developed from Tactical Game 3.
